Apple wins Samsung Galaxy tablet ban in Australia: On ZDNet, Zack Whittaker reports on the case. “Apple already won a victory in Germany, banning the Galaxy Tab 10.1 across Europe, forcing Samsung to pull the tablet from the IFA trade show in Berlin — one of the world’s largest technology events. The ban spread across Europe, but was reduced a few days later to uphold the ban in Germany, after concerns were met about the court’s power in imposing a Europe-wide embargo,” he writes. What’s your opinion? 

BlackBerry stumbles to feet, full of apologies: On the Register, Bill Ray gives the latest on the company’s troubles. “The services started to come back online during the night, with web browsing in Europe being the last service to be restored. Did Michael Dell convince HP to retain its PC business?: The VAR Guy reports. “Now for the twist: Michael Dell didn’t need much time to reach his own conclusions in his own head. During a keynote at Oracle OpenWorld last week, Dell said HP will lose economies of scale if it spun off its PC business but retained its server business. Volume deals on processors, storage and other components would get torn apart if HP’s server and desktop businesses broke apart, Dell essentially told the Oracle OpenWorld audience,” he writes.
