Arrow ECS launches professional services unit

Value-added distributor, Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions (ECS), a business segment of Arrow Electronics Inc., has launched a new professional services business unit to support its reseller partners who work in the services field.

Joe Burke, vice-president of worldwide services at Arrow ECS, will lead the new North American professional services business unit.

“The new professional services business unit is a formalization of the services we’ve been providing to our resellers for a number of years now,” Burke said. “We want to help partners get started in services and we also want to help supplement their current offerings.”

The business unit includes things such as technical, engineering, educational support and consulting services across the distributor’s portfolio of hardware, software and storage product lines. Burke said select cloud computing and managed services offerings are also available to Arrow ECS’ reseller partners and their respective end-user customers.

“We created this business unit because the opportunity in this area (services) is gigantic,” Burke said. “We’re looking at organic growth in this area to further grow our and our partners’ businesses.”

The business unit is designed for those resellers who may need additional help or expertise within the services realm, Burke explained. He noted that the unit is really a “supplement” to the reseller’s existing service offerings.

“As the services aggregator and provider, we save resellers from having to select, engage and manage service providers on their own,” Burke said. “Services and products are billed on a single invoice (and) we provide comprehensive pre-sales, post-sales product support and we serve as the source for solution provisioning.”

Now with the new professional services business unit in place, Burke says resellers can decide whether they want to augment their existing services, or outsource it to their customers.

With various vendor partnerships, Burke said the business unit also supplies vendor-authorized training, onsite security assessments, engineering services and 24-hour technical support services for reseller partners and their customers.
