Arrow partners with global IT training company

Value added distributor Arrow Electronics Inc. announced that New Horizons Worldwide Inc. has joined the company’s global training alliance.

New Horizons is an independent IT training company that focuses primarily on Microsoft and Cisco Systems. This partnership, however, will create a global learning ecosystem to makes IBM training available around the world. New Horizons operates more than 300 training centres in 70 countries, including Canada. The company has centres in Toronto and Vancouver.

Laurent Sadoun, president of the EMEA region at Arrow, said education is a key element of value-added services, enabling the market and the channel to support technology suppliers with product and solution readiness. New Horizons, an authorized supporter of several leading technology providers, is a pioneer in IT training with more than three decades of experience. Arrow and its global training alliance companies will soon complement the portfolio with a solution approach addressing critical business areas such as big data, mobility, security and cloud computing.

Earle Pratt, president and CEO of New Horizons, said the addition of authorized IBM training to the suite of offerings will allow New Horizons to provide even more training solutions to our customers. It uniquely combines high-end technology distribution and value-added services with IT training capabilities. The collaboration will allow New Horizons and Arrow to provide a very comprehensive offering of training and product to our mutual customers.

Arrow’s global training alliance is being extended and adapted to local customer requirements on an ongoing basis. Arrow’s dedicated IBM Global Training Web site, http://edu.arrow.com/ibm, is subject to continuous update regarding the latest regions and trainings added. Arrow and the members of Arrow’s global training alliance are in the process of implementing IBM Global Training in 130 countries.

The scope of available training includes:

  • IBM Systems training on Power Systems, PureSystems, System Storage and Storage Networking;
  • IBM System x and BladeCenter;
  • IBM System z;
  • Cloud Computing;
  • and IBM Software Trainings on business analytics, information management, collaboration, product lifecycle management, Rational, Tivoli and WebSphere.
