IT distributor Arrow Electronics has announced an agreement to distribute StorMagic software-defined storage solutions in both the US and Canada.
Under the agreement, the Centennial, Colorado-based distributor would bring to market SvSAN, virtual storage software aimed at both small business and enterprise.
“To help achieve the lowest ownership costs, StorMagic SvSAN delivers virtualized shared storage that works with any 2-node x86 server set up, eliminating the need for physical SANs, and can be managed from a central location,” Arrow said in a statement.
In order to do this, the software presents existing server storage as a virtual SAN, according to StorMagic, and reduces the need for local IT resources.
StorMagic SvSAN works in both VMware and Hyper-V environments.
