Asigra Cloud Backup now compatible with Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012

Toronto-based Asigra Inc. announced it has certified compatibility of Asigra Cloud Backup version 12 with Microsoft Windows 8 and Microsoft Server 2012.

These certifications ensures that the new features and functions in Asigra Cloud Backup v12 will operate with servers, desktops and laptops running the latest Microsoft operating systems, according to the company.

The Asigra technology team also told CDN that it has validated the installation and operation of all Asigra Cloud Backup v12 features across a broad range of Microsoft desktop and server operating systems. Asigra certified that its software can be installed on new Microsoft platforms enabling all data and applications supported on these operating systems to be backed up, recovered and restored in the case of a data loss event.

Microsoft platforms certified with version 12 by Asigra include: Windows Server 2012 Standard (x64), Windows Server 2012 Essentials (x64), Windows Server 2012 Data Center (x64), Windows 8 Professional (x86/x64), Windows 8 Enterprise (x86/x64), and Windows 8 (x86/x64).

Asigra also said that the goal of the certification is to expand upon what users expect from Asigra Cloud Backup software v12. This includes an assurance of stability, compatibility, reliability, performance, and quality, regardless of the operating environment. Qualification of Microsoft Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 brings these operating systems into one of the industry’s largest cloud backup compatibility portfolios, allowing organizations to centralize all backup and recovery processes under a single management interface, eliminating the need to manage a mix of platform-specific backup solutions.
