The Tempe, Ariz.-based distributor achieved Cisco UCS B-Series certification to become an official configurator for the Canadian and U.S. markets. The certification gives Avnet the ability toassemble and test pre-built base Cisco UCS B-Series Blade Servers for its network of solution providers. This is a key addition for Avnet solution providers as its reduces the cost and complexity involved in delivering these solutions.
Darren Adams, general manager and vice president, Avnet, said channel partners need to provide custom data centre solutions to meet the unique needs of their customers, but configuring and integrating these solutions can be time and resource intensive. Based on Avnet’s integration capabilities Canadian and U.S.-based solution providers will now have built-to-order UCS data centre solutions.
Adams added that Avnet services, coupled with onsite inventory of Cisco products, will also help partners deliver data centre solutions tailored to their customers’ business challenges without the need for further investment in developing their own integration capabilities.
