B.C. province-sponsored workshop helps small businesses boost competitiveness

Small businesses in Castlegar, B.C. will be able to attend a workshop this month to help improve their productivity and competitiveness.

The workshop will be held on Feb. 11, 2010 and is being offered by the Business Development Bank of Canada and is sponsored by the province, the Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust and the Castlegar Chamber of Commerce.

Iain Black, minister of small business, technology and economic development, says the workshop will help small businesses with their long-term success and will also help boost the province’s economy.

“Small businesses are a key driver in B.C.’s economic recovery, and this program will give local entrepreneurs techniques to boost their productivity,” Black said.

Participants who pre-submit financial information will also receive a personalized analysis to help them identify and follow through on business improvement strategies.
