Cloud security solutions provider Barracuda Networks announced this week that its compliance orchestration platform, Cloud Security Guardian, is integrating with the newly announced Amazon Detective security service.
Unveiled this week at re:Invent, Amazon Detective is a new security service from Amazon Web Services (AWS) that automatically collects log data from your AWS resources and uses machine learning to rapidly identify the root cause of suspicious activities
Barracuda Cloud Security Guardian, an agentless SaaS solution that provides users visibility into the security posture of cloud workloads and automates remediation processes, should help further contextualize identified threats, according to Tim Jefferson, Barracuda’s senior vice-president of data protection, network and application security, engineering and product management.

“The integration with Amazon Detective makes it simple for customers to take their response a step further and understand the impact of the threat by learning more about the context of an attack, such as if there was a spike in inbound or outbound traffic flow after the attack or if there is additional intelligence available about the IP making the attack,” Jefferson said in a press release.
Amazon Detective is available globally during its preview period. During the preview, it is available in the following regions: U.S.-East (N. Virginia), U.S.-East (Ohio), U.S.-West (Oregon), E.U. (Ireland), and Asia Pacific (Tokyo).
