BlackBerry upgrades its unified communications

Waterloo, Ont.-based mobility vendor BlackBerry announced that its unified communications and collaboration portfolio with BlackBerry Enterprise IM v3.1 has been upgraded.

The Enterprise IM mobilizes desktop IM solutions to optimize communication and collaboration with secure and real-time messaging locally or worldwide.

This update to Enterprise IM, enables users and solution providers to:

  • Tap to call within chat;
  • Instantly send meeting invites within chat;
  • Communicate and connect across platforms securely with public IM providers like Yahoo! and federated partners such as Skype; and
  • Produce avatars, contact management and presence status features.

Enterprise IM supports the following systems: Microsoft OCS 2007 R2; Microsoft Lync 2010, Microsoft Lync 2013 and IBM Lotus Sametime 8.5 and 8.5.2.
