CA Inc. has a new CEO. The company’s Board of Directors announced William McCracken in this role yesterday.
McCracken is now the CEO and chariman of the board within the company. He takes over for John Swainson, who announced his retirement last September.
“Bill McCracken has the knowledge, industry expertise, and experience to take CA to the next level,” Gary Fernandes, lead independent director at CA said. “The Board unanimously decided that Bill was the best choice to sustain the Company’s momentum and lead it going forward.”
McCracken has been involved with CA’s Board of Directors since 2005 and in 2007, he became the non-executive chairman.
Prior to his role at CA, McCracken’s work background consists of positions at IBM, where he served on the Chairman’s Worldwide Management Council and as the general manager of the company’s printing division, in addition to being president at Executive Consulting Group. He also held a director role at Ikon Office Solutions.
