CDN Now is live

Computer Dealer News enters a new and exciting era today.

After 20 years of publishing Canada’s number one print magazine covering the channel and for many years producing a weekly online edition, today we’ll start delivering content daily to your inbox. The reason for going daily is quite obvious — there is a huge demand for the latest news and analysis.

Having said, that readers also want a paper-based magazine.

We at the IT Business Group, the publishers of CDN, recognize that and are committed to providing the best content online and in print.

The print publication will go through some subtle changes. There will be more in-depth news analysis, for example.

But the online daily newsletter will deliver the most up-to-date news for the IT channel. My daily blog, VARBose will continue, joined by columns from industry experts such as Vawn Himmelsbach, Michelle Warren, Bruce Stuart, Colleen Francis and Roberta Fox.

CDN Now will feature some of the best promotions from distributors and vendors. We will include a weekly Web poll where you can have your say. Our staff will also comb the Web and cull together some of the best channel related blogs available.

This is a big mandate for the team here at CDN. But, as I have stated many times, you are worth it. The channel community in Canada needs this type of news service.

I believe solution providers who are not up-to-date on the happenings of the industry or the channel are at a competitive disadvantage.

Many people do not realize this but information is a salable item. It empowers you beyond anything else, in my opinion.

Take, for example, the two teenagers who stole a laptop containing data on U.S. veterans and active duty army personnel. What was more important the laptop or the data? Obviously, it was the data. That kind of information in the wrong hands could be disastrous. That is the power of information.

I welcome you to CDN Now. The team here at CDN will work very hard to provide you with the information you need to grow your business today and tomorrow. As always, I welcome your comments. If you have a question, comment, an idea that would improve the daily newsletter or any other remark, please e-mail me any time at [email protected].
