This month’s edition goes in depth on Microsoft Corp.‘s (NASDAQ: MSFT) debut of its new Windows 8 OS, with several reports by Paolo Del Nibletto from the launch event in New York City. The news section also features an update on federal government procurement reform and details of a strategy shift by security vendor McAfee.

Over in the editorial section, Del Nibletto looks at Eric Gales’ hiring at VMware Canada, while IT World Canada editor Dave Webb looks at a new “third wave” of tablets. And on an optimistic note, Tim Collins makes the case for a RIM comeback.

There’s a feature report on cloud computing technology in automobiles, and a Q&A with new Microsoft Canada boss Max Long. Plus much more.
