CompuVision and Savvia merge for enterprise push

Two IT services companies in the Alberta channel are now one and the same. CompuVision Systems Inc. of St. Albert and Savvia Inc. of Edmonton have merged to better address the needs of enterprise customers.

The combined company will operate under the CompuVision name and will remain headquartered in the Metro Edmonton area. The new CompuVision will have 120 employees working out of its offices in Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and Houston, Texas.

CompuVision also plans to add new talent to its team. The company hopes to expand its 120-person staff to 135 employees by the end of the year.

“This strategic merger will allow the new firm to effectively enter deeper into the IT enterprise space and add significant value to our current combined customers,” said Ryan Vestby, CompuVision’s CEO, in a statement.

Savvia and CompuVision are no strangers to each other. According to Lindsay Dodd, CEO of Savvia, the two companies have jointly delivered on five major projects in the last year. There are already shared customers, so the merger is likely a good fit.

“Our combined strengths create a unique and powerful ability to serve our clients from boardroom to the field, from business goals and strategy to the day-to-day needs of frontline staff,” Dodd said in a statement.

CompuVision is a 24-year-old managed services provider with solutions for small, medium and large enterprises. It aims to augment internal enterprise IT departments while also being an outsourced IT provider for small and medium businesses (SMBs).

Savvia is more of a newcomer to the channel. The company was founded in 2010 and has since provided IT advisory and consulting services to a variety of customers, including Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, the United Way of the Alberta Capital Region, Ronald McDonald House Northern Alberta, and the Edmonton International Street Performers Festival.
