Custom-made All-in-One PC for your kitchen?

Hardware vendors such as Dell, Samsung, HP, Lenovo and Apple battle it out for business and consumer buyer, little known system builder Velocity Micro is carving a niche custom-producing All-in-One PCs for a person’s kitchen or bedroom.

The Richmond, Va.-based system builder designs computers for the North American market and has found success in the past with making PCs for enthusiasts. It has its own line of tablet PCs called Cruz and is announcing Edge AIO, a new 23.6-inch All-in-One PC specifically designed to fit the decor of any kitchen, living room, home office, or bedroom.

Accroding to Velocity Micro, the Edge AIO is a combination of aesthetics and power, and is fully configurable. Configurations start at just $799.

Randy Copeland, President and CEO of Velocity Micro, said the All-in-One PC market is full of uninspired, underpowered hardware that not only offers a sub-par user experience, but doesn’t even look good doing it. Velocity Micro has designed the Edge AIO to be the solution to those low powered, low expectation, chunky looking All-in-Ones.

The company, which was founded in 1992, is offering the Edge AIO in pearl white and the unit will be powered by dual and quad core Intel processors. The Edge AIO is fully customizable to allow customers to decide how much or how little horsepower they want. The PC also has a brushed aluminum accents on it that the company claims can match any room’s decor.

Other key specifications are: Solid State hard drive options, Bluetooth and 802.11b/g/n, High Def video out, USB 3.0, SD card, 720p Front Facing webcam, DVD-RW, and 10/100/1000 LAN.

The Edge AIO is designed and assembled in Velocity Micro’s facility in Richmond.
