Dell EMC announces new suite to help PC deployment

Dell EMC is hoping to help enterprises speed up deployment of their computers with a solution that requires less effort and offers more control.

The company has launched its ProDeploy Client Suite, which aims to make the PC deployment experience less labour-intensive for businesses. With the suite, customers are assigned an engagement manager that helps with every aspect of deployment, including monitoring activity, coordinating resources, answering questions and resolving issues. Customers also get access to TechDirect, Dell’s self-service portal for configuration and status updates, to give them more control over their own deployment projects.

The suite has three flexible service levels to choose from, which range from simple to more complex based on common business deployment scenarios:

  • Basic Deployment offers preparation of systems for deployment so that they arrive with the image loaded, BIOS configured and asset tag already applied.
  • ProDeploy includes the basic features, as well as access to a deployment engineer, who “develops an implementation plan covering all aspects of installation and configuration of hardware and system software, 24/7 onsite installation and post-deployment knowledge transfer,” Dell EMC says. ProDeploy also allows businesses to use ImageAssist, a tool that has been proven to take up to 88 per cent less administration time than manual image creation, to quickly create, deploy and maintain a single cross-platform dynamic image.
  • ProDeploy Plus is Dell EMC’s end-to-end service that the company says addresses every task required to get new PCs “from the factory to desk, up and running fast.” This level can reduce deployment time by 35 per cent and save businesses up to $620 per PC. It includes all the ProDeploy features, as well as the use of Dell Connected Configuration “to set up a factory distribution point for their Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager to securely configure BIOS, image and domain join.” Customers also receive data migration with secure data wipe of legacy systems, training credits to use at any time, 30-day post-deployment support, and a dedicated ProSupport Technical Account Manager.

Doug Schmitt, president of Dell EMC Services says that the ProDeploy Client Suite was created to give customers more choice, flexibility and scale so that they can get the most value from their technology.

“The suite’s powerful combination of expertise, automation and control empowers IT resources and gives end-users the ability to use their systems straight out of the box,” he explains in a press release from Jan. 10.

ProDeploy Client Suite is now available for Dell Latitude, OptiPlex and Precision systems across 70 countries.
