Epson goes to the theatre

TORONTO – Epson Canada Limited Inc. has unveiled a home theatre front projection system for professional installers and serious home theatre buffs with its PowerLite Pro Cinema 810 and PowerLite Pro Cinema 810 HQV.

The projectors both feature a contrast ratio of up to 10,000:1 and higher degrees of sharpness. And, according to Epson, the 810 HQV model features video processing technology usually only available to broadcast professionals.

The 810 is a 720p native resolution front projector that uses the company’s Cinema Filter and Dynamic Eye Iris to provide brightness levels of up to 1,600 ANSI lumens. It also features a new 2.1x zoom Fujinon lens for more flexible installation.

Both models feature Epson’s high definition 3LCD technology and either come with or without a new Realta HQV video processing engine from Silicon Optix.

The Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema projectors are priced at $3,899 for the 810 and $7,798 for the 810 HQV.
