Father passes leadership of solution provider on to his daughter

The next generation is taking the helm as a Mississauga, Ont.-based solution provider enters its 30th year.

Eddo Muzzatti, founder and chairman of Commerx Computer Systems, announced the appointment Tuesday of his daughter, Joanna Muzzatti-Strong, as the solution provider’s new president and CEO. A 17-year veteran of Commerx and a graduate of Humber College, Muzzatti-Strong has held “nearly every position” at the company, from admin and accounting to marketing and sales, most recently service as vice-president of operations.

Her father Eddo ran the company from its founding, some 29 years ago.

“It’s a great time to be working at Commerx,” said Muzzatti-Strong, in a statement.  “As we enter into our 30th year, the timing couldn’t be better.  Commerx will continue to evolve and grow during these challenging times, and I am excited to be at the helm for the celebration of our 30th anniversary.”

Commerx was launched on Canada Day in 1984, and is focused on enterprise IT solutions for the enterprise and mid-market. Its vendor partners include HP, Citrix, Hitachi Data Systems and Microsoft. Commerx was a finalist at CDN‘s 2013 Channel Elite Awards for its work in managed services.
