Fluke Networks finds a NetAlly

Fluke Networks announced Monday that it has acquired the intellectual property of Viola Networks, including the technologies underpinning the NetAlly product line. The vendor says the purchase of Viola’s technologies and source code will allow Fluke to expand its own product lines in the area of VoIP analysis.

“Fluke Networks continues to demonstrate our commitment to customers in the performance management space,” said Fluke president Paul Caragher in a statement. “Our prior integrations of the NetFlow Tracker and Visual UpTime product lines, the recent release of Visual Performance Manager 4.0, the addition of key senior management, and now the purchase of NetAlly all combine to give our Performance Management business the strength in people and product our customers require.”

A developer of solutions to help enterprise managers and service providers monitor and assure application, network and VoIP performance, the company says the NetAlly assets will allow it to offer a VoIP pre-assessment capability via software agents, deliver advanced active network performance assessment, and monitor VoIP infrastructures through call manager visibility.

Fluke said it intends to rebrand and integrate elements of NetAlly into new products, as well as create extensions to existing Fluke lines.
