iPhone, iOS ‘most desired’ among consumers

Jim Dalrymple writes about the most desired smartphone and operating system according to customers.

“Apple’s iPhone and its mobile operating system iOS are the most desired smartphone and operating system among smartphone buyers, according to a new study by market research firm, Nielsen. The iOS is basically tied with RIM’s Blackberry operating system for smartphone OS market share, although the iOS did come out on top. Apple came in with 27.9 per cent share and RIM had 27.4 per cent share.”

Acer plans to overtake iPad in two or three years

Jim Dalrymple shares Acer CEO, Gianfranco Lanci’s plans for the tablet space.

“Acer CEO Gianfranco Lanci said he thinks it will take his company two or three years to overtake the iPad and Apple’s early lead in the tablet market. ‘We hope our tablet PCs can reach a global market share of 10 per cent to 20 per cent initially, and become the market leader in two to three years,’ Lanci said.”
