Fujitsu announced the launch of the 0-Watt-PC to its proGreen series. This energy-saving PC, announced earlier at this year’s CeBIT, is now available for shipping in two versions: the Esprimo E7935 0-Watt (small form factor) and Esprimo P7935 0-Watt (microtower).
By including the 0-Watt-PC into its proGREEN selection, it is compliant with all relevant environmental standards, set by either energy labels such as the Energy Star 5.0, the Nordic Swan or the Blue Angel, as well as by EU legislation. Most of them even exceed the current legal requirements and are pretty good for energy efficiency and environmental standards.
Additionally, the ESPRIMO proGREEN selection features Intel vPro Technology which enables IT administrators to take advantage of hardware-assisted security and manageability capabilities to simplify maintenance, management, and protection of their business PCs and lower total cost of ownership.
Thanks to a patent-pending new technology, the 0-Watt-PC does not consume any power in off-mode or hibernating while still remaining administrable during a pre-configured time slot. The device is capable of going into a 0-Watt standby automatically, without someone using the hard-off switch or the off switch at the power outlet. Should the PC need to be administered outside of usual working hours — for example to update software — the administrator has the option to define a time slot in which the PC automatically wakes up and is waiting for updates. Once the time slot is over, it goes back into 0-Watt standby. This way, the 0-Watt-PC completely avoids the typical “stand-by losses” already condemned by EU law which requires that electrical devices do not consume more than 1 Watt in stand-by. A PC with 0-Watt technology saves up to 60 percent more energy compared to standard technology.
Besides the 0-Watt-PC, Fujitsu’s proGreen selection contains two energy efficient notebooks with the Esprimo Mobile X9515 and the LIifebook E8420 and the Celsius W370 workstation.
