Matthew Miller provides some details around Nokia’s recent reorganization of its business.

“Nokia announced a reorganization of the company structure designed to increase competitiveness. We have seen these types of reorganizations before and I am not sure how effective they are, but I like how much simpler this new organization looks and it will be easier to keep track of the different branches. There will now be three units in the Nokia devices and services business, including Mobile Solutions, Mobile Phones and Markets.”

Intuit Acquires Healthcare Software Company Medfusion For $91 Million

Leena Rao writes about Intuit’s latest software company acquisition.

“Intuit has announced the acquisition of healthcare communications software company Medfusion. The cash transaction is valued at approximately $91 million. The transaction is expected to close during the fourth quarter of Intuit’s fiscal year 2010. Intuit plans to integrate Medfusion into its Quicken Health solutions. Intuit says the acquisition will be used to further its presence in the healthcare sector, helping medical professionals communicate with patients online, access and manage personal health records, and of course, provide a better way for patients and professions track healthcare expenses.”
