Jason Beal of Ingram Micro Canada shares some tips on how businesses can generate more leads.

“So, what’s the best way to generate leads? My advice for channel partners – first, never stop marketing your services and value. Second, stop asking for leads. Instead, start telling for leads by investing your time and energy in building relationships, sharing your successes and passing out leads of your own. I know it sounds like a lot of work and a little bit of karma, but these tactics will generate the leads and client referrals you’re looking for. Here are six ways to get started: play the field, share your successes, build relationships, make yourself available, do some marketing (and) give leads to get leads.”

Samsung and LG to launch Android-based tablets this year
Ars Technica
Chris Foresman writes that Samsung and LG will launch Android-based tablet devices later this year.

“Both LG and Samsung plan to launch such products by the end of this year. LG says that it plans to have a product ready to ship in the fourth quarter of this year, according to a Dow Jones Newswires report. Meanwhile, Samsung said that will launch a tablet with Galaxy branding in the third quarter.”

Palm piloted into HP; time to get busy with WebOS

Adam Ostrow is excited to see what will happen now that HP has closed its acquisition of Palm.

“HP has closed on its … acquisition of Palm, and … confirmed that it plans to develop tablets … and netbooks based on … webOS. … HP also plans to continue to develop smartphones. … Tablets and netbooks were one of the big reasons we assumed HP bought Palm. … With everyone from Apple to Dell getting into the game … HP had little choice. What will be interesting to watch, however, is what devices … the company builds for other platforms. … HP’s strategy appears to be a lot more like that of Apple, controlling both the hardware and the operating system.”
