HPE makes hybrid cloud management easier

After being unveiled last November, Hewlett Packard Enterprise recently announced the general availability of its latest SaaS-based tool for hybrid cloud management, OneSphere.

The platform provides businesses unified access across public and on-premise private clouds, in addition to a pool of IT resources, such as cost analytics. OneSphere is targeting three specific groups: IT operations, developers and business leaders.

“In a typical business, three groups of people want different things,” said Gary Thome, vice-president and chief technologist of software defined infrastructure and cloud group for HPE, in a March 30 blog post. “Data and applications distributed across multiple clouds, inside data centers, and at the edge create management challenges. HPE OneSphere is designed to streamline collaboration across the entire business—changing how organizations of all sizes get their arms around their hybrid cloud resources.”

According to HPE, OneSphere lets its users build clouds and deploy virtual machines and containers in minutes. Its “Projects” work space lets users speed up app development and deployment with the help of unique templates, cloud-native tools and services and applications. OneSphere also allows for the use of third-party developer tools and apps.

OneSphere is available on HPE’s online marketplace or through its list of channel partners.
