HPE refreshes partner program, changes to take effect November

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is refreshing its Partner Ready program with greater rebates and faster access to higher membership tiers, the company announced Tuesday.

The new perks are geared towards partners who are shifting to high-growth areas, such as composable infrastructure, hyperconverged solutions, storage, software and consumption services. HPE says they’re also simplifying the program to make it easier for new partners to jump on board by adding rewards from the first sale, without gates, caps or targets.

“Partners will earn more through the increased focus on high-growth areas of the market, as well as improve their skills to more effectively sell solutions in the future through new training and competencies,” Paul Hunter, worldwide partner sales leader for HPE, said in a statement.

The HPE Engage & Grow partner incentive program, which rewards partner sales representatives for selling across the HPE portfolio, will expand to encompass high-growth products and services, allowing for even more partners and partner sales representatives to qualify for rewards. Some of the changes to the partner program have been inspired by recent statistics that suggest that by 2020, consumption-based procurement will account for as much as 50 per cent of enterprises’ IT infrastructure spending, according to HPE. That’s why the company is also adding a new competency in the HPE Partner Ready program for HPE GreenLake, the company’s suite of pay-per-use on-premises IT solutions. Progression through the partner tiers en route to a new Hybrid IT specialization certification, HPE adds, will be five times faster.

HPE says its partners will have end-to-end visibility across the entire sales cycle, a faster pricing process with one single source for data and a consistent transaction process for quote configuration. The changes to HPE Partner Ready will take effect in November.
