Ingram’s Seismic forges alliance with monitoring company

Ingram Micro (NYSE: IM) added to its three-year managed services venture Seismic by announcing an alliance with NimSoft Inc. of Redwood City, Calif., a provider of monitoring solutions.

According to the Santa Ana, Calif.-based distributor the NimSoft alliance addresses channel partners’ need for a scalable, mid to large IT management and monitoring solution.

Under the new alliance, Ingram Micro North America will bring to market the entire portfolio of Nimsoft Monitoring Solutions through the Seismic division. The new performance and availability monitoring solution set will be called the Seismic Enterprise Monitoring powered by NimSoft.

Available immediately to Ingram Micro’s North American channel partners, these mid-market and enterprise tools include business service management and dashboards, as well as proactive monitoring services including applications, SLAs, end-user response times, servers, databases and the network.

Seismic partner Dan Sottile of Long View Systems, last year’s CDN Solution Provider of the Year for the Channel Elite Awards, NimSoft was the clear leader for his company’s needs when it came to providing advanced monitoring and alerting to its mid-market and enterprise clients. “Not only are we able to use the NimSoft tool to provide advanced monitoring and alerting on a diverse range of software applications and operating systems, we are also able to use their Service Level Management tool to provide our clients with a clearer view of the business value and impact of the systems that we are managing for them,” Sottile said.

Gary Read, president and CEO of NimSoft, said the partnership with Ingram Micro Seismic enables channel partners with the technology they need to pursue and win larger deals that represent much more complex IT environments and stringent SLAs. The enterprise-ready monitoring solution is proven to dramatically enhance the overall service capabilities of an MSP partner, while increasing their profitability and delivering better ROI to their clients.

Justin Crotty, vice president of services, Ingram Micro North America, said the alliance with Nimsoft is a real game changer for Ingram Micro partners, especially those who are already playing in the mid-market and enterprise space, and selling core infrastructure technologies such as data center solutions, unified communications, and security.

“The end-game for any MSP who is serious about success is managing the network, regardless of the size and complexity of that network, and all that connects to it. By adding Seismic Enterprise Monitoring to the existing mid-market focused offerings in the Seismic portfolio, we’re enabling our partners to do that and more,” he said.
