Intel introduces new chip for low-end laptops

Intel has started shipping four new Celeron chips intended for low-priced laptops as it gears up for the back-to-school shopping season.

I applaud this move by chip making giant Intel because it truly opens the market up for OEM vendors and the channel. Sure this is targeted at back to school and most of those sales will be at Best Buy or FutureShop but there are plenty of communities across Canada that do not have big box retail.

The local solution provider is your back to school IT source. Intel over the years has done a good job in supporting this channel which in CDN’s estimation reaches between 3,000 to 4,000 storefronts in Canada.
