Intermec ships another rugged product

Intermec is shipping the new PA30 high-performance applicator print engine designed to increase label productivity and placement accuracy in demanding print and apply applications.

The automated print and apply process, where a label is printed or encoded, verified and then automatically applied, significantly increases efficiency in high volume applications.

Pat Walker, PCM Image-Tek sales director, said automated print and apply of bar code labels has long made economic sense for larger companies applying labels to products and cartons. The faster and more accurately the labels are applied, the more efficient the operation. Now with the increased application speed and repeatability of placement offered by the PA30, companies can upgrade to print and apply and realize significant labor savings.

The rugged, metal PA30 includes an extra input/output receptacle and can execute user-defined programs, thereby eliminating the need for and extra expense of a PC. Flexible connectivity enables the use of up to seven wired and wireless interfaces simultaneously, allowing the PA30 to issue commands to production line machinery, conveyors, and other printers and access information directly from the network host.
