Singers launching their own clothing lines, fragrances and now, search engines? Sharky writes of a new search engine by hip-hop singer, Kanye West.

“SearchWithKanyeWest.com. The engine-‘enhanced by Google and Ask’-allows users to submit searches and thus win ‘Swag Bucks,’ which are ‘points that can be redeemed for prizes like limited edition Kanye West posters, iPhones, Macbooks, instruments, Amazon giftcards and dozens of other high end goods.’”

Dude, you’re not getting a Dell…with an AMD chip

Jordan Golson writes that Dell has switched to Intel chips and will only be selling consumer PCs with AMD processors over the phone and through retail partners now.

“A posting on the Direct2Dell blog said “we are committed to the AMD product lines as a long-term partner to provide the maximum choice for our customers.” Translation: Intel gave Dell a better deal. AMD shareholders were not impressed with the switch: AMD was off almost 3.5 percent on the day.”

Vista SP1, making it (a little) harder for users to forget their logon password – day 4

Adrian Kingsley-Hughes writes how Microsoft’s Vista SP1 is making it easier for users to log into their computers.

“Vista SP1 makes it harder for people to forget their passwords by prompting the user to type in a password hint at the same time they create the account. Not much use to people who user a meaningless string as a password, but great for those that use birthdays, anniversaries, pet names and so on.”
