Kaspersky leadership shakeup sees departure of North American operations lead

Two top dogs have left Kaspersky Lab, the security vendor has confirmed, including the leader of North American operations Christopher Doggett.

Reuters reports that company chief executive Eugene Kaspersky confirmed the news during a recent visit to China.

According to Kaspersky, Doggett left to join a competitor while Kaspersky switches up leadership in DC. The head of the company’s Washington office, Adam Firestone, has also left.

Kaspersky claimed that the two departures are unrelated.

The company had gone on the record earlier saying that it has struggled to secure government and large corporate contracts, citing the company’s foreign roots as a barrier.

Reports indicate that political tensions with Russia have had a hand in Kaspersky’s failure, despite its general success at uncovering threats.
