Lenovo becomes platinum sponsor of Green4Good

Lenovo has announced it has become a platinum sponsor of the Green4Good environmental charity.

The initiative, launched in 2009 by Compugen Finance Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Top 100 solution provider Compugen Inc., aims to promote reuse of end-of-life technology, legacy data management and waste reduction through proper disposal. It also raises money through the reuse of technology to be donated to other charities.

“Sustainability for Lenovo means taking care of the economic, social, and environmental health of our company and the communities in which we operate,” said Colin McIsaac, General Manager, Lenovo Canada. “We are excited to partner with Compugen on the Green4Good program.”

Since its launch, Green4Good has garnered widespread recognition in the tech community. In the past it has been deemed Best Green Solution, Microsoft’s Sustainability Partner, and won Toronto Board Of Trade’s Sustainability and the Green Toronto award. Its charitable partners include The Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness, Friends of the Earth, Massey Centre for Women, Project Childcare Foundation,Sky’s the Limit, Woodgreen Community Services, World Wildlife Fund, among others.

It claims to have generated nearly $2,000,000 for charities.
