Manitoba hospitals receive new equipment to improve diagnostic testing

Through a $17.7 million investment, hospitals in Manitoba will receive upgraded equipment for diagnostic testing.

As part of the multi-milion dollar investment, $3.7 million will be used towards renovations and equipment or a new operating room angiography suite at the Health Sciences Centre (HSC) Winnipeg.

The remaining $14 million will be used to purchase and install replacement equipment for diagnostic services, which include: 14 ultrasound scanners at the HSC over the next three years, a CT scanner at The Pas Health Centre, an ultrasound scanner at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, and more.

This investment is part of a two-year, $85 million investment that was announced two years ago for specialized medical equipment.
