Marketing Your Managed Services: Part 1 of 2
MSPmentor
Dan Kolansky writes about the topic of marketing thru social media tools.

“Marketing through social media is probably one of the most misunderstood marketing methods in the world. Social media marketing is really word-of-mouth evolved. Successful marketers in the social media space have figured out a way to be interesting enough to get people to pass them on to their friends, business associates, and family. Getting the ball rolling can be tough, but the keys to success are consistency and creativity. This front covers things like Twitter, Youtube, Facebook, and more. One thing I can tell you is that screaming ‘here I am! Listen to me!’ will not bring the results you’re looking for.”

Nokia reports weak Q4 earnings, reshuffles board of directors
TechCrunch
Robin Wauters writes about Nokia’s board of directors changes.

“Two of its board members, Lalita Gupte and Keijo Suila to be more specific, will no longer be available. Gupte was first appointed to Nokia’s board in 2007 and has been a member of the Audit Committee during her entire directorship. Keijo Suila has been Nokia board member since 2006 and is currently also a member of the Personnel Committee. The Committee will also propose election of Nokia CEO Stephen Elop to its board for the same term. Nokia is struggling to compete with Apple’s iPhone and the abundance of Android smartphones on the global market, and Elop is said to gear up for outlining his long-term strategy plans at Nokia’s investor meeting on February 11.”

Flip Mino HD with 802.11n WiFi hits the FCC
Engadget
Nilay Patel writes about a rumoured Flip video camera from Cisco that features WiFi.

“We’d been hearing rumors that a next-gen Flip camera with WiFi would hit sometime in the first half of the year, and what’s this? A new Flip video camera with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz 802.11n WiFi just popped up in the FCC database. Based on the shape of the FCC label, the location of the HDMI port, and the M3260 model number, it definitely looks like a member of the Mino family, but that’s really all we know — although if we had to bet, the 5GHz support is there so it can beam movies to the FlipShare TV. We’ll see, we’ll see.”
