ESI Technologies has confirmed the the acquisition of GRAB Technologies, a company that specializes in the integration of IT infrastructure, particularly in the Sun Microsystems/Solaris and thin-client environments.

With this acquisition, ESI continues its expansion strategy of organic growth combined with acquisitions.

This transaction is intended to solidify the company’s work in storage, Sun/Solaris and thin-client solutions in Québec.

This acquisition also give ESI access to a staff that the company believes is highly qualified that Grab has developed specifically for Sun solutions.

According to Greg Rokos, President and CEO of ESI: “The acquisition of Grab Technologies embodies perfectly our strategy. The synergy between our services and those of Grab Technologies will enhance our offer and allow us to provide a wider range of solutions to a broader client base.”

“The impressive growth of Grab Technologies over the past few years made partnering with a firm that could propel Grab to its full potential and meet the wide-ranging needs of our clientele, a high priority,” stated Patrick Brochu, President and CEO of Grab. “ESI and Grab Technologies share a client-oriented corporate culture, and we have discovered that the team at ESI is highly motivated and employs effective tools. We now have access to a complementary set of resources that will allow us to provide a diversified range of products and solutions that are perfectly tailored to the needs of our clients.”

The operations of Grab will be fully integrated into those of ESI. Brochu will assume a business development role, and will become part of ESI’s team in Québec City.

Grab was established in 1998 and has based its business on Sun technology. The company’s main focus is on the integration of IT infrastructure, and on carrying out technological analysis, migration and network management projects.
