Montreal solution provider hires ex-Microsoft Canada executive

Orckestra Inc., a Montreal-based solution provider with expertise in .Net commerce, has hired Corinne Sharp to be its Chief Commercial Officer.

The Chief Commercial Officer’s role is a newly created position at Orckestra, who was 2014’s Gold winner for Best Mobile Solution at the CDN Channel Elite Awards.

Sharp was the channel chief for Microsoft Canada between the years 2009 to 2012. Sharp was with Microsoft Canada since 1999.

In between Microsoft Canada and Orckestra, Sharp became a senior advisor for the Canadian Channel Chiefs Council along with running her own business Sharp Perspectives.

At Orckestra, Sharp has been tasked to build a global partner ecosystem, while supporting the company’s North American and International growth.

Louis Fournier, president and CEO of Orckestra, said he has seen Sharp in action and knows first-hand of her tremendous strengths and capabilities in building and implementing successful channel strategies for Microsoft.

Orckestra’s flagship solution is called Overture and it’s an e-commerce platform built to respond to the new paradigm of modern omni-channel commerce for mid-size and large organizations. Late in 2014, the company launched Overture 3, while securing $8 million in Series A funding.

Infusion Partnership

The company also announced a partnership with Toronto-based Infusion Development Corp., a solution provider and consultancy that offers software engineering, digital design, Web portal development, and managed services.

The two companies, who have previously won Microsoft Impact Awards, will be working on retail solutions such as e-Grocery coupled with immersive in-store experiences for customers in the oil and gas sector, manufacturing and distribution.

Alim Somani, president of Infusion, who was also named one of Canada’s 2014 Most Admired CEOs by Waterstone Human Capital, an executive search firm based in Mississauga, Ont., said Orckestra and Infusion align in many ways, both culturally and technologically. The two companies share a similar approach to excellence in design and engineering, are driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, and are united in the pursuit to simplify a world of complexities through the use of intelligent and modern solutions.
