New leader takes the helm of Tech Data Americas

Distributor Tech Data Corp. has a new leader at the top of its Americas business, charged with leading the company’s sales, marketing, logistics and purchasing operations in the United States, Canada and Latin America.

Joseph H. Quaglia moved into the role of president of the Americas for Tech Data this week. A Tech Data veteran, since 2007 he served as Tech Data’s senior vice-president of U.S. marketing, a role which included leading the operations and strategic direction of the Tech Data’s product marketing, advanced infrastructure solutionsand TDAgency divisions. In February 2012, he added the role of president of  TDMobility, the distributor’s mobility offering.

“Joe has a proven track record of success in both sales and marketing leadership roles at Tech Data,” said Tech Data CEO Bob Dutkowsky, in a statement. “He has actively led several of our major strategic initiatives in the U.S. over the past five years, including the successful launch of our award-winning StreamOne platform, TDCloud business unit, and TDMobility offering. Most importantly, Joe has a true passion for winning and is committed to Tech Data’s culture and the success of our people. I am confident that he will continue to strengthen Tech Data’s position as a trusted partner for our vendors and solution providers in the Americas.”

Before joining Tech Data in 2006 as vice-president, East and government sales, he held senior positions with CA Technologies, StorageNetworks Inc. and Atabok.
