New Microsoft SMB partner competency focuses on cloud On Talkin’ Cloud,   reports. “When the competency launches in June 2012, according to Microsoft’s press release, it’s going to bring Microsoft partners the ability to differentiate in the increasingly competitive SMB cloud services market. Those partners that qualify get access to enhanced marketing tools, technical resources and sales collateral for partners helping small businesses move to the cloud,” he writes. What’s your opinion?

Most smartphone, tablet owners not concerned with locking devices: report On ZDNet, looks at a report regarding BYOD security. “Overall, researchers found that less than half of all devices in the BYOD category are protected by the most basic of security measures. There are many takeaway lessons here. The automatic reaction should not be to simply ban personal devices at work, but obviously some security education is needed here for employees at every level in the company,” she writes. What’s your opinion?

Apple: We never said Siri would actually work in the U..K. On The RegisterAnna Leach reports on a consumer complaint. “The ASA concluded that the complainant’s expectations were too high. The belief that Siri would be able to direct users to useful local businesses was not implicit from the advert, said the ASA, and was an expectation that would not trouble the UK’s “average customer”, who, the agency asserted would have little knowledge of technology journalism or Apple product launches,” she writes.
