Nick Tidd named to Blueroads channel council

Blueroads Corp. has added Nick Tidd, the former vice president of worldwide sales at 3Com, to its Channel Advisory Council.

Tidd’s position at 3Com was downsized when the company shifted its worldwide channels office down to the regions. “This means my group was phased out,” Tidd said at the time.

The San Mateo, Calif.-based Blueroads crafts enterprise partner opportunity management solutions for organizations with complex, multi-dimensional channel market such as Avaya, Brocade, Polycom, Xerox and NetApp, which are all Blueroad customers. One of Blueroads more popular strategies is there closed-loop system which enables individual partner representatives to actively participate in sales and marketing processes.

Blueroads has invited experts in channel marketing, channel sales and partner management to participate in its council in the past. The council discusses channel management issues and tries to provide best practices to customer base and prospects.

Shinya Akamine, CEO of Blueroads said Tidd’s philosophy is to view channel management from an entrepreneurial perspective by introducing new technologies, building markets and analyzing how technology trends translate into new opportunities for enterprises, technology resellers and solution providers.

Akamine believes Tidd can bring a strong viewpoint to the council where his insight can be applied towards examining current channel management issues and proposing potential solutions to the extended channel community.

The purpose of the council is to tackle key strategic channel issues facing senior executives of medium and large enterprises. The output is designed to provide strategic guidance, insights and experiences to the customers of Blueroads. The council includes: Ross Brown, Peak Consulting, principal and the former channel chief at Citrix; Michael Haines, Microsoft, general manager of North American channel strategy; Greg Kalman, Meru Networks, vice president of North American channels and former Avaya channel executive; and Tushar Kothari, Meru Networks, senior vice president of worldwide sales and former channel chief at Cisco and Juniper.
