“Oracle announced on Tuesday new software and hardware capabilities that will help midsize companies streamline their IT implementations. Consisting of the Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 pre-loaded on HP BladeSystem and StorageWorks Modular Smart Arrays. The solution is pre-loaded and pre-configured at HP Factory Express and include onsite setup and configuration.”

IDC predicts Apple tablet to boost mobile ‘Net users to over 1 billion in 2010

Jim Dalrymple shares IDC’s predictions of what sort of impact the Apple tablet will have on the market in 2010.

“Calling it the “iPad tablet computer,” IDC says that it expects more than 1 billion mobile devices will be accessing the Internet by the end of 2010, boosted by the arrival of the device. Of course, smartphones will have a larger role to play in the amount of mobile people accessing the mobile Internet, including Apple’s iPhone.”

“Regarding devices and services, the press release contains the following statements: improve our user experience, re-engineer our Symbian user interface; deliver a major product milestone before mid-year 2010, and another major product milestone before the end of 2010, deliver our first Maemo 6-powered mobile computer, with an iconic user experience, in the second half of 2010.”
