Nutanix has a new Canadian leader

Just as Cisco puts the bulls-eye on Nutanix’ leadership in the hyper-convergence market comes news that Anton Granic, the Canadian senior director has been promoted to vice-president of Americas West and Canada.

Replacing Granic is Robert Yelenich, who was recently a vice president for Commvault Systems Canada. Yelenich has a start date of April 4th.

Granic was named No. 14 on CDN’s Top 25 Newsmakers List and has been instrumental in putting Nutanix on the map in Canada.

Besides establishing the Nutanix brand in the Canadian marketplace, Granic delivered a channel friendly strategy where every three months solution providers would get new solutions to sell that would address key verticals industries, while also taking advantage of the Dell partnership as those solutions would run on Dell PowerEdge XC series machines.

Nutanix also introduced the Elevate Technology Alliance Program that targets application, hardware and infrastructure vendors as well as solution providers.

As for Yelenich, he spent the past six years at Commvault overseeing the entire Canadian operation.

Prior to Commvault, Yelenich worked at NetApp where he helped to develop new vertical business. He started his career in the Canadian IT industry at Dell in 1999.

Yelenich takes over at a time when the burgeoning hyper-converged market got a bit crowded with the entry of Cisco Systems and its HyperFlex Systems solution.

Nutanix also released new enterprise cloud solutions.

The Nutanix New Enterprise Cloud is designed to consolidate many operational functions in the data centre, such as virtualization tools.
