Partnership with Calgary solution provider targets application-centric cloud networks

Calgary-based solution provider Long View has formed a strategic partnership with a developer of application-centric network services, Embrane of Santa Clara, Calif.

Long View was already using Embrane’s products in its public cloud offering, and according to the solution provider it recognized the value Embrane solutions could bring in the context of agile data centers, including public, private and hybrid cloud environments.

With the new partnership, Long View becomes an Embrane partner and will offer Embrane solutions to companies looking to automate the delivery of network services.

“Long View continually strives to stay ahead of the technology curve and find innovative solutions that add the most value possible for our customers,” says Craig Cook, Long View’s chief architect of cloud services, in a statement. “We rigorously assess and test any new product we make available to our customers to ensure it meets the high standard of excellence we have already established with those customers.

The two companies will also work together to deliver joint solutions based on Embrane’s technology to Canadian customers. Long View said adding Embrane to its portfolio will allow it to offer dedicated network services such as firewalls, VPNs and load balancers to enterprises on a per-application basis.

“There’s no greater validation of our application-centric networking solutions than when a customer uses it, sees the benefit, and agrees to resell it to their customers,” said Susheel Chitre, vice-president, business development and strategic alliances at Embrane, in a statement. “Long View is one of the industry’s premier IT consulting and networking solution providers, and we are proud to partner with them to bring our solutions to market in Canada.”
