Police fire on suspected iPhone thief

File this one under Overreaction! San Francisco police are using Apple iPhone tracking services to catch crooks of the smartphone device.

Yesterday two of San Francisco’s finest gave chase to two people who allegedly robbed some of their iPhone. They were eventually caught red handed, but not after one officer fired her gun.

My question to them is don’t they have more important things to do that chase after dumb thieves. Another question is Apple putting undue influence on the SFPD to ensure iPhone customer safety. I know that Apple is a powerful company; but are they that powerful?
