Printer vendor inks reseller agreement with M2M developer

OKI Data Americas has announced a reseller agreement with Lantronix, a provider of machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity solutions.

Through this agreement, OKI Data will become the first printer manufacturer to resell Lantronix’s xPrintServer iOS print server appliance through the channel community. OKI Data initially plans to resell the xPrintServer Office Edition, which supports unlimited iOS devices, offers customizable settings and security options, and provides printing support for both USB and network-connected printers, wired or wireless.

The xPrintServer Office Edition from Lantronix enables large workgroups to print directly from iOS mobile devices through the native print menu, eliminating the need to download mobile print applications. The xPrintServer converts existing printers into iOS-compatible devices and addresses the demand for iOS mobile printing, specifically within the enterprise and education markets.

The agreement between OKI Data and Lantronix serves as the next phase of the strategic alliance between the two companies following the co-marketing partnership which was formed in June 2012. OKI Data will market and sell the xPrintServer devices with an array of compatible OKI LED/Laser printers for customers, resellers and distributors that are seeking enhanced mobile printing solutions. Conversely, Lantronix will refer OKI Data’s products to members of its network that are in need of customized printing solutions.

Keith Fenton, Product Planning Manager for MFP Software and Solutions at OKI Data Americas, said this agreement bolsters OKI Data’s position as a valued printing solutions provider to our enterprise customers. By offering the xPrintServer with our single- and multi-function printers, OKI Data is able to provide mobile printing solutions to help optimize performance within specific workgroup environments quickly, easily, and cost-effectively.
