Province of Ontario contributes $3.6 million to Ottawa-based company for technology advancements

The province of Ontario is contributing $3.6 million to an Ottawa-based company to help with the expansion of Carleton University and its complete technology development projects.

Ontario is contributing this money to Ottawa-based company, Group IV Semiconductor Inc. (Group IV), through the Innovation Demonstration Fund.

Group IV’s technology has the potential to lead to low-cost solid-state light bulbs that could use up to 90 per cent less electricity, compared to regular light bulbs.

This investment, led by the McGuinty Government, is part of Ontario’s Innovation Agenda, which aims to move Ontario’s economy forward.
