Rackspace opens new data centre for global expansion

Cloud service provider Rackspace Hosting has gone down under in an attempt to expand its services globally.

The company has open its first Australian data centre located at Erskine Park in Western Sydney.

Rackspace can now offer local dedicated hosting and managed virtualisation solutions to larger IT contracts looking to deploy enterprise grade private cloud solutions based on VMWare from enterprise, financial markets and government, for customers who prefers to keep data onshore. The data centre also provides Rackspace’s OpenStack-based Open Cloud platform.

Rackspace has also extended its global partnerships with a range of technology solution partners from Brocade, Cisco, Dell, EMC, Microsoft and RedHat.
