Rubrik launches SaaS platform Polaris for data management applications

Cloud data management company Rubrik launched a new SaaS platform to help people and businesses manage their information scattered across the cloud.

The Polaris SaaS platform includes native search and a global content catalog, which are displayed through an open API architecture, Rubrik said in an April 4 press release.

Bipul Sinha, Rubrik co-founder and CEO, touted Polaris’ ability to deliver a single system of record across all business information.

“We are delivering a new class of data management applications that will allow enterprises, for the first time, to address all segments of the business for compliance, governance, and security,” he said.

The transition to the cloud has yielded positive results for many businesses, but organization is still a challenge, said Mike Carter, CEO and founder of eGroup, a Rubrik partner, in a statement.

“Application and data fragmentation is still a huge issue for our customers who are looking to operate their businesses in the cloud. Rubrik Polaris provides a much needed platform to bring full visibility and control over all applications, whether in the datacenter or in the cloud,” he said.

Rubrik said the first data management application debuting on Rubrik Polaris is Polaris GPS, a single control management console. The console is locally managed by Rubrik’s Cloud Data Management, and its interactive global map can visualize all applications and data contained across physical, virtual, and cloud platforms. It can also deliver customers custom analytics and reporting.
