Tidal Migrations shrinks the migration bubble

Transformation takes time. It’s no easy trick for a company to transition from an infrastructure fulfillment-oriented culture to that of a value-added solutions provider in the cloud. It takes vision and a program in place that tackles the challenge at all levels.

Benchmark Corp., a Canadian IT solutions provider that delivers leading-edge expertise and custom solutions, was looking to make that transformation. Company president Luc Villeneuve tapped Tidal Migrations — CDN’s diamond award winner in the Next Generation Channel Innovator category for the second year in a row — for the right approach, process, software, and training to turn his company’s vision into reality.

“The goal for companies is to shrink the cloud migration bubble — the time it takes them to transition their workloads into the cloud and bring significant value to the business,” said Tidal Migrations’ chief migration hacker David Colebatch. “Our cloud migration enablement program, which we launched this past January, gives clients the tools and know-how to get it done. The program includes a unique, business-first evaluation of application workloads combined with the technical complexity to quickly assess what the target state of each application should be.”

Tidal’s migration enablement program contains two training components: a one-day hands-on workshop for technical services, and a half-day session with sales and marketing to identify and qualify opportunities.

Another key piece of the program is the collaborative Tidal Migrations platform. Since its launch in 2017, this platform has been supporting partners with a white-labeled SaaS platform with underlying discovery and analysis tools.

Additionally, the program includes shadowing for early projects, dynamic chat support, and white-labeled professional services to augment partner resources while continuing the knowledge-transfer theme.

“The idea is to provide integrator partners with a scalable migration practice,” said Tidal chief value hacker Jason Hurlbut. “Success comes when we can shrink the time it takes clients to transition their workloads into the cloud and in driving business results.”

Benchmark engaged Tidal Migrations to provide the training and ongoing sales and technical support that now complements three of Benchmark’s 12 solution areas. Tidal’s program has given Benchmark’s sales executives tools leading to a number of executive conversations and adding millions of dollars to the Benchmark funnel.

This year’s gold winner for the Next Generation Channel Innovator award is SnapAP.
