Simply Accounting gets a Web/Department store

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — The latest version of Accpac’s flagship product Simply Accounting will be able to help small-medium-sized businesses keep track of different revenue streams and get them online in less than two hours.

Available in Basic and Pro versions, the package has a Simply Webstore,

where a small business can create a complete online Web store using Wizards. More than 60 store templates are available, according to Scott Zandbergen, product marketing manager, Simply Accounting for Accpac International Canada.

“”We are giving users an accounting Web site that will be up in two hours with enough selection for a unique look. You can bring in your own logo and inventory and the transactions are automatically put into Simply Accounting. It is a turnkey Web store and it is open enough for other HTML editors for customization,”” Zandbergen said.

Users can now set up 100 departments in general ledger. For example, if a clothing store sold men’s and women’s wear, that store can show profit and loss for each department.

The new departmental accounting feature is only available in the Pro version; however, Zandbergen said there are many more features available to both versions.

“”There are more time saving features like integrating with sales taxes,”” he said.

The user can now assign all tax codes. There are still several standard tax codes to choose from, but the user can now set up specific codes, he said.
