Software AG has a new leader for Canada

German enterprise software vendor Software AG has new leadership to head its Canadian operations.

David Ridout has been tapped as the new Canadian regional vice-president and country manager for Software AG. He will lead the sales team and business development, and will be tasked with further expanding the vendor’s presence in Canada.

“David brings extensive experience in leading sales teams and business development efforts to Software AG, which will enable him to hit the ground running with our team in Canada and deliver exceptional results for our customers,” said Jay Johnson, president and CEO of Software AG North America, in a statement. “His expertise and understanding of the enterprise technology market will surely drive our Canadian presence to new heights.”

A 20-year veteran of the technology industry in various sales and management roles, Ridout was most recently vice-president and country manager for Ariba Canada. He was also country manager for CA Technologies and held several roles at WatchGuard Technologies and Primus Solutions, including vice-president of worldwide sales.

“I’m excited to be joining Software AG, the world leader in enterprise management software, and look forward to leading its Canadian operations,” said David Ridout, Canadian regional vice-president and country manager, Software AG, in a statement. “I look forward to bringing my background to such a talented team and producing exceptional results for our Canadian-based partners and customers.”

Ridout will be based in Software AG’s Canadian office; the vendor also has offices in Cambridge, Ont. and Montreal. Software AG is a business infrastructure software provider with offerings in areas such as application modernization, service-oriented architecture (SOA) and database management systems. It boasts over 10,000 enterprise customers in over 70 countries
