Tech Data adds Oracle Cloud to StreamOne Cloud marketplace

Oracle’s universal cloud credits are making their way to Tech Data’s StreamOne cloud marketplace.

The credits, which are for Oracle’s Pay-As-You-Go metered services, will give Tech Data customers in America and Europe access to all of Oracle’s platform-as-a-service (PaaS) and infrastructure-as-a-service offerings (IaaS), the company announced Feb. 15. It will also allow them to upgrade, expand or move their services across data centres. It’s a strong selling point for channel partners, said Sergio Farache, senior vice president from Global Clout Solutions at Tech Data, in a press release.

“Through StreamOne, Oracle resellers can offer IaaS and PaaS for provisioning and use, with simple management and billing capabilities,” he said.

The new service will complement StreamOne’s existing offerings, which include IBM, Microsoft and Veeam, and give partners more flexibility when approaching customers, according to Al Patel, senior director, VAD channel sales, Oracle EMEA.

“In addition to driving accelerated cloud revenue and adoption, we can also support existing partners with their on-premise and on-premise-to-cloud needs,” he said in a statement.

StreamOne gives customers the ability to manage their entire end-user life cycle for consumption and subscription-based cloud services. This includes tools and resources that let resellers learn about, buy and manage services, according to the company’s website.
