The tablet alternatives to iPad

A report from research firm ABI Research indicates a new record for global media tablets was set in the second quarter of 2012, with shipments reaching nearly 25 million.

Of course Apple and the iPad dominate the tablet market with close to 69 per cent of all tablets shipped in the last quarter.

But that’s not to say there is no competition in the tablet arena. In fact, Apple competitors such as HP and Samsung have released new models that push the form factor envelope.
